Brain Storming Themes

These are my first thoughts on the themes I could use for my FMP. We were given three themes and we could also come up with are own that are collage teachers will cheek when going back to collage to see if they believe it would work. I chose to brain storm the theme blue and heritage from the once given to use from school as the other one was environment and I new I wouldn't work well with that one. When I was thinking of my own theme I new I wanted to work in a theme that I would enjoy and already have a passion for, this is why I though of working with make-up. I had to find a way to make a need for  this that`s why i started brain storming ideas.

Safety Labels After finding the official legal document provided by the government on there cosmetic laws in the UK I was able to get a better understanding of what my packaging must include. This was informative because I do know that there has to be correct labels on packaging so that the consumer can see if they want to use it but I didn't know know enough  to create my own packaging  that applies with the law. I realised that the main Legal requirements are ... 1) All products should show on there packaging the correct labelling requirements. Chosen Brand: Maybelline New York

Maybelline New York After researching a bunch of well know drug store brands to pick as my client I have decided on Maybelline New York. I picked them as I believe I would have a little bit more freedom with the design as I was very close to picking L`Oreal as well, if it wasn't for L`Oreal having other franchises under the same name I would of gone with them due to them having in my opinion a bigger range of products but I didn't want to limit myself to making the logo still recognisable to the original as I think that would of limited my creative flow. Making the decision to go with Maybelline New York is still very positive as they have grate products that I would feel confident recommending and working with as well as a big range to work with. I love the fact that they work with iconic models that are very trendy and can help promote the new campaign to the world. Zine Front Cover

Front Cover Options  The first page of my zine has two designs as in my journal I sketched out an idea but I had two ideas for the background. This is why I have two different options here but I have to look into the both and decide which one I think is best shows the message I am trying to send as well as the most ascetically pleasing.      The first idea that I spoke about in my journal was to have past campaigns in the background of the front cover with the text bold over the top saying “THE FUTURE OF” then the Maybelline name logo that I have chosen as my most favourite design. This idea at first wasn’t working out as I haven’t used In design before I didn’t know how to make an image smaller when copying it in, but after playing around with it I figured it out.
